Hello hello, and welcome! This blog is the result of: Ellis one day tweeting she woke up with the urge to start book blogging again, Lisa virtually high fiving her because she’d been feeling the same way for a while, some jokes about running one with a very ‘we have good intentions, but mild to zero follow-through’ approach to it, and then both of us taking that seriously. In very typical fashion, however, it still took us another year to actually get serious and do something with it (see the thing about follow-through, but also: life).
Against all sound blogging advice, we probably won’t have a fixed — or even regular — posting schedule but will rather use this as a space for when we read something we really want to talk about. Because as experience has taught us, trying to articulate thoughts and feelings and shape them into something even remotely readable is hard. There will occasionally be reviews, but maybe some other book- or reading-related posts as well. Very exciting!
Meet the occasional reviewers
Lisa is a 30-something avid romance reader whose high expectations in real life men can be attributed to all the love stories she’s read. Outside reading romances, Lisa also loves learning new languages (currently learning French and Spanish), and watching productivity videos on Youtube. You might know her from her previous co-blogging stint at Romances Ever After.
Ellis is a 30-year-old translator whose taste in music has been described as both wistful and energetic. Unsurprisingly, she deeply relates to the lighthearted dramatics of Georgia Nicolson, Felicia Hardy, and the entire cast of the 2022 masterpiece Rosaline. There’s almost nothing she loves more than being fully engrossed in a story, whether it’s romance, urban fantasy, literary fiction, the latest x-men comic, pretty much anything narrated by Inés del Castillo, or someone passionately talking about their day/interests/latest obsession. You may have seen her before as a co-blogger on Paper Riot and Finding Bliss in Books.
